North Side Day Camp @ North Park Village – June 25th – June 28th!

The Chicago Council will once again be holding scout day camps this summer. Best fitting one for Pack 3894 is the session being held at North Park Village (located at 01 N. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL 60646) from Tuesday, June 25-Friday, June 28th. There is a family overnight option on Thursday the 27th. Camp sessions will run Tuesday 8:15am-3:30pm, and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am to 3:15pm.

Spring Campout – Apple River Canyon – May 17th

Important news on the upcoming Pack 3894 Cub Scout Family Campout:

When: Friday May 17th-Sunday May 19th, 2013
Where: Apple River Canyon State Park, Walnut Grove Youth Camping Area (sites

Who: Registered Cub Scouts and their immediate family members (Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and siblings)

IMPORTANT: All parents and legal guardians attending MUST have completed
the Youth Protection Program and turn in certificate to Den
leader prior to departure. No exceptions.
Youth protection online course is free and takes approximately 20
minutes to go through. The link to this can be found here –

Meal Format: Den Cooking – Each Den will be responsible for planning, preparing, cooking, and clean-up for their Den meals. Den Leaders will communicate and collect food costs to parents/guardians in coming weeks. Members of the Outdoor Committee and Den Leadership are available for questions at the upcoming Pack Night or via email.

Tough as a Boy Scout

Are you tougher than a Boy Scout?

Check out the new reality series broadcasting on National Geographic Monday evenings, 7:00 CST!  6 elite Boy Scouts will compete against different adult men in a variety of scout-based challenges. Over a course of three days and two nights, the scouts will compete and judge the adults in adventurous challenges.

2013 Chicago Wolves Hockey

Please join us for an evening of hockey as the Chicago Wolves take on the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday, March 9th at Allstate Arena. The pregame Fun Fest kicks off from 5:00-6:30, with the game immediately following with a 7:00 PM start time.
Packages include:
Single game ticket + Wolves hat = $26
Single game ticket only = $19.50
Extra hot dog + soda = $6.00
All scouts who participate will be eligible for a patch. All orders must be e-mailed to Lyzette Austen at no later than February 27th and money is due March 1st. Blue and Gold Dinner to be held Friday evening, March 8th! Please see note about Pre-Registration for the event.

The Cub Scout Blue & Gold Dinner is an annual celebration of the birthday of Scouting. This year Boy Scouts turn 103, Cub Scouts turn 83, and our very own Pack 3894 turns 44 years old! Join your Scout for this fun family event which includes an evening of den stories, recognition of rank advancement, and a family dinner.

Please bring a donation of a basic household necessity to benefit the St. Vincent De Paul Society’s Lenten Drive.*

Items needed include toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, diapers, toothpaste, dish soap, feminine products and the like.


Family Dinner

Pack will provide beverages, cheese pizza, pasta, salad, fruit, utensils, tableware and napkins.

Den Assignments

Desserts (4 dozen from each den):

Charging Rhinos, Golden Dragons, Lighting Bullets, Thundercats, Mountain Lions, Lego Bears

Snack Mix (3 Costco size bags from each den):

Sharks, Scorpions



Scouts should wear their full Class A uniform. Each den is responsible to clean up their table area. Leave no trace! Also, please consider doing a “Good Turn” and help clean up after the event.
