The Speed Race judging will be more critical this year, to ensure ALL Cars meet the derby rules. For this reason we need to garage the cars overnight, and review the cars Thursday. We will review your scout’s car and allow you the opportunity to make adjustments that night ; this also includes weigh in. If the car cannot be repaired to the point to meet all rules; the car will be allowed to race in a non-medal heats and officially would be disqualified from any Race Awards.
The spirit of the Cub Scout Race is to allow the boys to “do their best” and create , design & build their own car as much as possible with full adult supervision, but limited adult “hands on” as much as possible.
The 2013 rules apply to this year’s upcoming race. Rules posted always here on website, should anything change. The following PDF link the full rules, so please be familiar with them. http://www.chicagocubscouts.com/documents/Pack3894 2013 Rules.pdf

Time Trials will be random between Tiger, Cub Scout & Webelos among all the heats. We need to allow for all boys cars to run on each track for fairness; 6 lanes.
The design awards will be announced throughout the nights as heats are raced. Max: number of design trophy awarded to a boy is 1, ties for other category will be determined by next closest vote. This year a Scout could win a speed award AND design award.
Medals given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place PER Grade/ Den Year Level ( Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Web 1, Web 2)
Top 6 speed winners overall go to grand finals in 6 lanes rotation Grand Prix Race.
Top 3 winners receive the large trophies.
The overall speed winner brings home a Pizza Party for their Den.
We do need help with setting up the track, and be part of our Friday Pit Crew. If you have a few extra hours to assist please contact Robert @ TRIRRR@AOL.COM
