RACE CAR CHECK-IN: Thursday Jan 9th, 6pm – 8pm

**Your son's car will be checked for rule compliance then stored in the "garage." No other adjustments can be made after that.
If the car fails inspection, you will have a chance to fix it before race day**

RACE DATE: Friday January 10th, 6:00pm (6:30pm expected start time)

** The car needs to have been checked in the night before to qualify**

Location: Queen of Angels Church Basement, 2330 W Sunnyside Avenue Chicago, IL 60625 (both nights)

RULE Overview:

The Speed Race judging will be more critical this year, to ensure ALL Cars meet the derby rules. For this reason we need to garage the cars overnight, and review the cars Thursday. We will review your scout’s car and allow you the opportunity to make adjustments that night ; this also includes weigh in. If the car cannot be repaired to the point to meet all rules; the car will be allowed to race in a non-medal heats and officially would be disqualified from any Race Awards.

The spirit of the Cub Scout Race is to allow the boys to “do their best” and create , design & build their own car as much as possible with full adult supervision, but limited adult “hands on” as much as possible.

The 2013 rules apply to this year’s upcoming race. Rules posted always here on website, should anything change.  The following PDF link the full rules, so please be familiar with them. http://www.chicagocubscouts.com/documents/Pack3894 2013 Rules.pdf
