Pack 3894 Fall Campout – Apple River Canyon State Park
When & Where?The Pack 3894 Fall Campout will be held at Apple River Canyon State Park on Saturday October 9th, 2010, plan to leave Chicago @ 11 am. Apple River Canyon State Park is located in Apple River, IL ( NorthWest of Rockford) 90 miles from Chicago.
Why this location? We wanted to keep the cost low, allow for enough campers ( most sites do not allow more 30 campers), and provide more adventure and trully get away from the city and for many of the scouts & even parent would be an experience they wont forget. Apple River Park will provide us with the following amenities:
Water Front Camping
Drive-in /Pull up Access to site
Long Hike Trails
Fishing
Dark Sky for a Star Hike
Individual Fire/Charcoal Pits
Large Campground
How much? FREE! Just carpool with another Family member and pay for the tolls ( under $5) and gas.

Schedule of Events – Tenative
Saturday October 9th
11am – Departure
1-2pm – Camp Arrival ( we need everyone to plan to leave Chicago by 1pm)
2-4pm – Den Activity
4pm – Dinner Preparation
6pm – Dinner Complete
Dusk- Campfire Ceremony
After Campfire – Star Hike
Sunday October 10th
7am – Wake up Call
8am – Breakfast
9am-11am Program
12pm Break Camp
